We begin our hike at the left of the valley station at a signpost. After crossing of the Kaltenbach brook on a small bridge we ascend some metres to a crosswise running trail. We follow that trail for about 30m to the right and climb up afterwards precipitously to the left through the forrest. We cross another trail. We follow the next trail coming from the right now to the left. Short time later we cross an other brook on a small bridge and reach a logging road which we follow to the right. Passing a water work we reach a signpost near a crossroads "Katrinalm/mountain station 2h" (013°36'00 “O - 47°41'56“ N – 582 m). Here we leave the logging road to the left and climb up precipitously about 30 minutes in the forrest to signpost (013°35'46 “O - 47°41'47“ N – 800m). We follow this some minutes up to logging road. Signpost ( 013°35'24 “O - 47°41'49“ N - 895 m ). The trail splits up. We go straight ahead and leave the ski slope to the right at a bench in the wood to return after few metres to the trail. After reaching another logging road we leave the ski slope to the left side. We cross the ski slope twice before we ascend the last 300 metres on the slope to the Katrin mountain pasture and the mountain station (13°34'58 “O - 47°41'09“ N – 1415 m).
