A hike into the Styrian Salzkammergut area past Rettenbachalm pasture and Blaa Alm pasture!

We walk along Lehár quay in direction Rettenbachwaldstrasse road until we get to Rettenbachmühle guesthouse. We continue along the gravel road in direction Rettenbachalm pasture. The slightly ascending road is toll-free and cleared in winter. The wild-romantic Rettenbach brook accompanies hikers. The trail passes the climbing garden and Hubertuskapelle chapel until it leads to the car park at Rettenbachalm hut. A driving ban is effective from there on and hikers get to Niederalm pasture (636m). Quaint snack stations and homey huts invite to a break. From the pasture one follows the signs in direction Blaa Alm pasture and Altaussee.
Rettenbachalm pasture is a perfect base for hikes to Hinteralm pasture, Gamskogl Mountain and Wildenkogel Mountain.
