From Rettenbach hut one follows the even forest trail in direction Blaa-Alm pasture and enjoys a view of Loser and Wildkogel Mountains. After Solestube the path turns into the trail to Ischlerhütte hut. Follow the well-marked bending path uphill through the mostly dense forest and after about two hours you get to Schwarzenbergalm pasture. Right next to Schwarzenbergalm is Ischlerhütte hut. Built in 1928 the hut was renovated in 1981 and today offers all amenities of a modern mountain hut. Strengthened one follows the path across Altarkögl Mountain to the summit cross at Schönberg. A dreamlike view and fantastic alpine flora are the reward for the exhausting ascent. To get back to Rettenbachalm you can either take the same way back or follow the path along Kainalpenbach brook, which starts at the left after Ischlerhütte hut.
