Holy Florian celebration

The Holy Florian has his saints day on the 4th of May. On the following Sunday the fire fighters celebrate this day as great day of their patron Holy Florian.

The emperor's festival

Every year, on August 15th, in memory of the Emperor Franz Joseph, the so-called Kaiserfest is arranged by the marching band Bad Ischl .

'Kaisermesse' - emperor's mass

Every year on August 18th to the Emperor's birthday the 'Kaisermesse' - emperor's mass - is celebrated in the Catholic parish church in Bad Ischl.

“Pfeifertag” Day

This quite young tradition is celebrated on a mountain pasture in the Salzkammergut typically on the 15th of August .

Carnival Time

Usually, carnival time starts on the 11th of November at 11.11 a.m. Carnival activities are suspended after the 25th of November (St. Catharine) and during Advent time. Only after the 6th of January carnival festivities restart.

”Liachtbratl” Monday is celebrated in Bad Ischl on the first Monday after September 29th (= St. Michael’s). “Liachtbratl” Monday is the day on which one has to use artificial light for working for the first time.
