Usually, carnival time starts on November 11 at 11.11 a.m. Carnival activities are suspended after November 25 (St. Catharine) and during Advent time. Only after January 6th carnival festivities restart.

After a series of carnival balls and parties the carnival mood culminates in the so-called three days of carnival – Carnival Sunday, Carnival Monday and Shrove Tuesday.
