August in Bad Ischl is devoted to the birthday of Emperor Franz-Josef I. On this occasion numerous festivities take place in the heart of the Salzkammergut from the 11th to the 18th of August.

Thursday, 11th of August
50 years clebration - Lehárfestival Bad Ischl
Start in the Imperial-week with a the operatta „Paganini“ of Franz Lehár.

Sunday, 14th of August
4th Emperor Franz Josef trotting race
3 p.m. - Turf Bad Ischl/Kaltenbach

Monday, 15th of August
Kaiserzug: nostalgic steam train to Bad Ischl (departing at 7.30 a.m. from Salzburg and 9.30 a.m. from Attnang Puchheim) 12:30 p.m. arrival in Bad Ischl and reception by mayor Hannes Heide.

Imperial Festival of the Brass Band Bad Ischl – from 2.00 p.m. on at the Esplanade Bad Ischl

Tuesday, 16th of August
Kaiser-Gala
Concert in the honor of Emperor Franz Joseph I with Angelika Kirchschlager in the Congress & Theaterhall Bad Ischl at 8.00 p.m.

Wednesday, 17th of August
Kaiserbummel - Imperial stroll: enjoy a shopping spree on the 2.5km-long red carpet in Bad Ischl from 10.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. and many activities

IMPERIAL BIRTHDAY, Thursday, 18th of August

Imperial mass: 9.30 a.m.: presentation of the regiment l report to mayor Hannes Heide and Archduke Markus in front of the parish church l 10.00 mass l afterwards presentation at about 11.00 a.m. l 11.15 a.m. march to the Kaiservilla and reception

Imperial Golf Trophy: 10.00 a.m.: A sporty event at which celebrities play for the popular Golf Trophy. Of course they are dressed in traditional clothes!

Night of Emperors + 7th Emperor Franz Meeting: The birthday of the emperor is pompously celebrated in the Congress & Theatre House in the centre of Bad Ischl. A gala night with culinary delights and a unique production. An event, which takes up the theme of the emperor and the monarchy and interprets it in a modern way.
Admission: 7 p.m.
